How much can a model earn?
The fees are different from city to city and job to job. With the exception of the supermodels fee, adult commercial models can expect to make anywhere between $50 to $250 an hour depending on the market. New York City, which is the commercial modeling capital of the world, normally pays models $250 an hour. Children are paid less than adults.

What is CompCard?
A CompCard is a models business card or a company's broshcure of yourself. It's a nice printed paper which has a model's photos and basic measurement information plus contact information. It is necessary to have if you are serious about modeling profession.

Today, digital compcard has been becoming popular as part of models porfolio. Citimodels.com offers this service to models in addition to print hard copy.

What about portfolios?
Portfolio is a history of the work you have done: covers, editorial pages, newspaper ads, etc. It is not a book of one photographer's pictures of you.

How do I put together eye catching portfolio?
At Citimodels we help the models understand how put together the “right” kinds of photographs for their head shot, portfolio and composite sheet.

Every photo must look like an ad. Don’t make the mistake of doing what most people do and just stand in front of a camera and have pretty pictures taken. Generally those pictures get thrown away by agents. The way to get an agent’s and photographers’ attention is by showing them photos that tell a story. Your photos should look like they could be an ad for many products.

Not knowing the proper ingredients of commercial photographs is the main reason people never reach there goals in the industry. Because being able to show different expressions in believable ways is what grabs an agent’s attention. Citimodels will make sure you have all of these qualifications.

What is an Open call?
They are free and you will get the agencies' opinions on your modeling potential and one may even want to sign you. When you attend these open calls, bring your portfolio. Wear a flattering outfit that is also comfortable. Do not wear a lot of make-up. The people you are meeting with are professionals and can spot someone's modeling potential immediately.

How do I choose a photographer?
Citimodels only work with accredited fashion photographers to make sure it saves time and money for the models and the agency. Citimodels can suggest photographers to use.

What does Citimodels do?
As your agent we submit your composite sheet to art directors and photographers to our network of contact locally and international. We give you the necessary information pertaining to a booking, negotiate and collect fees when you are booked for a job, and to send you on go-sees. The agent does not select models for jobs.

How much is Citimodels fee?
Citimodels collect a fee from business customers only when we obtain a booking for a model. In print advertising we charge 20 percent commission per booking. You travel reimbursement is not subject to commission.

What are the benefits in signing with Citimodels?
Every model must be represented specially in dealing with money. Most big modeling contracts are done thru an agency. You will have one person working very hard on your behalf. It makes your life simpler. When you are not available to work on certain days, you only need to notify one agent. Repubable agencies are also being contacted by big advertising agencies for work. You don't want to be left out.

Do I need experience to begin working?
In modeling you can begin to book certain jobs right away. Be flexible, practice often.

Can Citimodels guarantee work?
Any Agency cannot guarantee work. Citimodels can only introduce you to the most appropriate interviews. You are the only one who can actually get the work.

What is a go-see?
A go-see is when you "go and see" a client to show yourself and your work for upcoming modeling bookings. You would bring your portfolio, have a photo or comp card to leave behind, and dress the part.

Just because you were turned down today doesn't necessarily mean you do not have a shot- the next time.
